So far this year I’ve photographed some really amazing high school seniors! The best part of my job is capturing what makes these kids tick. For some, it’s sports, others art or fashion or just pure happiness. So, class of 2017, here are ways others have added their own flare to their senior sessions. I hope it inspires some ideas for your portraits.
It is always so much fun to play around with lighting and a sports theme. The Portsmouth High School baseball team is going to miss Kyle as he makes his move to Exeter High.
Abby, recent graduate from Phillips Exeter Academy, was just HAPPY! She has such a great laugh and she can find humor in just about anything. She is SO much fun to be around.
Meghan is outdoorsy and likes a natural look. She also has a collection of vintage cameras. I’m so glad she brought a few of them along for her shoot.
John, from Exeter high school, likes to hang out in urban environments. He used to be into BMX biking. He doesnt ride so much anymore, but he still has that look.
This image isn’t quite so recent, but it’s a great example of adding personality to your senior portraits. Hunter’s thing is soccer. This images doesn’t scream soccer but it gets the point across.
Here are a couple of my all time favorite images. AJ is serious about his music. I think we have an album cover here-don’t you?
So as you think about your own senior portraits, try to think of ways to express parts of your personality and passions in your images. Are there certain clothes you LOVE to wear, is there a sport your passionate about, is there a special place you like to hang out? Your senior portraits, after all, should be all about YOU!
